Canon Suzan Muhwezi speaking at the burial of the late Christine Ndungi Bakaihahoki

The Presidential Advisor on Exports Canon Suzan Muhwezi who also the wife of the Minister for Security Gen Jim Katugugu Muhwezi has hailed the late Christine Ndungi Bakaihahoki as a strong woman who worked hard to ensure that her children become successful.

Mrs Muhwezi made the remarks yesterday August 11th at the burial of Christine Ndungi, the mother of Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner Emmy Ngabirano in Kitojo village in Nyakagyeme Sub-county where she represented her husband as Chief mourner. She also delivered a condolence massage from the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa.

Canon Suzan Muhwezi paid glowing tribute to the deceased saying that she knew him many years ago as hardworking woman and a strong christian who used the two virtues to bring up her children single handedly after the death of her husband.

The Commissioner of Resident District Commissioners Col James Mwesigye who represented the Office of the President thanked God for the gift of life of the late Ndungi who gave birth to children like Emmy Ngabirano who have become useful citizens in the country.

Over 20 Resident District Commissioners, their Deputies and Assistants from all over the Region led by Lwngo District RDC Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi attended the burial function to commiserate with their fellow staff.

The event was also attended by Masindi Kitara Bishop Joshua Kugonzq and former Bishop George William Kasangaki attended the event alongside a big political and technical team led the Masindi District Chairman Cosmas Byaruhanga who described Ngabirano as a unifier having worked in Masindi District as Resident District Commissioner.

From Bushenyi District where RDC Ngabirano is currently based, a delegation led by the LC 5 Chairperson Jaffer Basajjabalaba, the District Woman MP Hon Annette Mugisha and the Chief Administrative Officer Ms Phiona Sanyu said that Ngabirano’s posting to Bushenyi was a blessing because he has stabilised the District.

RDC Emmy Ngabirano who spoke on behalf of his siblings hailed their mother and described her as a mentor who instilled virtues of hardworking into them and will emulate her by ensuring that her wishes while on earth are fulfilled.

The family was also consoled by Nyakagyeme Twemereire Gye Association a group that brings together people born, married and raised in Greater Nyakagyeme Sub-county led their Chairman Amon Ahurira Baheza who said that they condole with their members at such time of need when they are mourning a loved one.

The Funeral Mass was led by Christ the King Parish Priest Rev Fr Vianney Byaruhanga who was assisted by Rev Fr Mubangizi from Gisoro Parish in Kisoro District and was also attended by Nyakibale Catholic Parish Priest Rev Fr Conrad Atuhaire alongside several Reverend Sisters and catechists. The function was also attended by several Reverends from the Church of Uganda led by Archdeacon Kasoroza Ven Rev Ronald Natuhwera.

Prominent mourners who attended the function included the Executive Director of PPDA Canon Benson Turamye, Promise from the Ministry of Finance, UPDF 2nd Infantry Division Commander Maj Gen Paul Muhanguzi, Operation Wealth Creation Coordinator for Western Region Col Bashaija, Rukungiri DPC Apollo Kyangungu, Mbarara District CAO David Muhwezi among many other dignitaries.
