The Ntungamo district inspector of schools Fred Bahati has urged all civil servants to always nurture and mentor their successors when they are still holding positions instead of suffocating the system after their departure.
He made remarks today in Kikoni Adventist Vocational High School main hall while bidding farewell for retired head teacher Ntereire Geoffrey after nine years of dedicated service at Kikoni SDA primary school Ntungamo Municipality.
Bahati noted that good leaders should strive harder to make sure that systems run smoothly even in their abscesses.
The senior inspector of schools in charge of Rushenyi county Tuzariirwe Robert implored school management committee chairpersons to always be proactive for the management of the schools.
Tuzariirwe noted that some chairpersons are reluctant to perform their duties and left everything to head teachers which should not be the case.
He commended the retired head teacher Ntereire Geoffrey for being a lobbyist, cooperative and good performer with a legacy.
The incoming head teacher Kikoni SDA primary school Nareeba Alex thanked the former head teacher Ntereire Geoffrey for being a mentor, hero and remarkable leader who dedicated his career to shape the minds of future generations.
He commended the church and parents for supporting the school which has enabled it to excel in the academic standards.
Ntereire Geoffrey revealed that he served Kikoni SDA primary School community since 2016 and the school achieved a successive outstanding in academics and consistently ranked in Top Schools during his tenure.
Ntereire who retired before the mandatory age thanked the school foundation body, management, staff and parents for the support and bidding farewell after serving them well.
The Kikoni SDA Church pastor Isaac Turyamureeba thanked Ntereire Geoffrey for the splendiferous work for the development of the school.
Pastor Turyamureeba welcomed the incoming head teacher Nareeba Alex who has been deputy at the same school and wished him well.
Twinomujuni Asaph Talk chairman SMC Chairman and PTA chairman Tashobya Francis Salongo hailed the retired head teacher Ntereire Geoffrey for serving Kikoni SDA primary school diligently saying that his dedication and commitment uplifted its academic standards.
