Kajojo at St Andrews Church Kishenyi in Kanyantorogo Town Council with Chairman elect Kapesha Byamukama

Kanungu District Chairman Eng Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo has disclosed that he is leaving the office as a successful leader in May and well satisfied since the people of Kanungu elected a leader who will start from where he will stop without any inconvenience.

Eng Arinaitwe Kajojo made the remarks yesterday March 8th while speaking at St Andrew’s Kishenyi Church of Uganda in Kanyantorogo Town Council during a Thanksgiving ceremony organised by the the newly elected Mayor Kenneth Tumuhamye and his family.

The outgoing Chairman said that the people of Kanungu were right to elect Byamukama Kapesha as their Chairman because he has ably worked for the development of Kanungu during his tenure as Secretary for Works and Technical Services for the last 5 years.

Eng Arinaitwe Kajojo who contested for Kinkizi East Parliamentary Seat and lost to incumbent Dr Chris Baryomunsi, noted that a good politician do need to stay in one position for long, but should serve at least two terms and leave for others also to serve.

He noted that although he lost the Kinkizi East Parliamentary seat, he will continue serving the people of Kanungu District in other capacities and is hopeful that one day he will represent the constituency.

While speaking at the same function Byamukama Kapesha thanked the people of Kanungu who elected and assuredvthat he will serve them without fear of favor without any discrimination.

The Thanksgiving Service was led by St Andrew’s Kishenyi Church of Uganda Priest Rev Ezera Tumwesigyire who called on the christians to always thank Almighty God for the troubles and success they go through.

During the function which was attended by a cross section of old and newly elected District Councillors, Kanyantorogo Town Councillors and Technical staff and specially invited guests where Iver Ugx 3 million was raised and later Chairman Tumuhamye treated the guests to a luncheon at his residence in Kishenyi. 

Chairman Tumuhamye hailed all the people who supported him in his bid to reclaim the Kanyantorogo Town Council LC 3 seat and assured the voters that he will use his now vast experience and connections to make the Town Council a model of development in Kanungu District.
