Bishop Akanjuna leading Kakitari's burial

NEWS– The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, has advised married couples to lead exemplary lives if they are to leave a lasting legacy even after they are no more.

Bishop Akanjuna made this call speaking to the mourners at the sendoff ceremony of Prof John Tuhe Kakitahi in Rwenkureiju Bubaare town council of Rubanda district emphasizing the importance of couples nurturing their relationships and households with unwavering faith and spiritual guidance.

It’s from here that he urged married individuals to prioritize the divine principles of love, commitment, and mutual understanding as the bedrock of their unions.

Bishop Akanjuna further called on mourners to always be prepared for the unexpected, emphasizing the importance of putting one’s faith in Jesus Christ reminding them that the timing of one’s departure from this world is ultimately in God’s hands.

The Bishop asked parents to be good examples to their children who will be next family representatives saying there shall be accountability of all what one did in worldly time.

The former Uganda’s Prime Minister, Rt Hon. Livingston Ruhakana Rugunda used the same opportunity to applaud Prof. Kakitari as an outstanding figure who made significant contributions to public health not only in Uganda but the whole world.

Rugunda pointed out that the deceased played a pivotal role in the fight against Polio and Kwashiorkor debilitating diseases that had long plagued the nation explaining that his unwavering commitment and innovative approaches played a crucial part in reducing the incidence of this disease and improving the lives of countless Ugandans.
