NEWS- Two people have been confirmed dead and two critically injured in a fatal accident.
The fatal accident that took place at around 10:30pm of Friday 14th June 2024 at Gaz Petrol station along Kasese – Mbarara road in Ishaka town in Bushenyi district.
SSP Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the development stressing that the head on collision accident involved a yet to be identified motor vehicle and a motorcycle Bajaj boxer registration number UFG 319E.
It is said that the motor vehicle was from Kasese heading towards Mbarara direction and collided head on head with the motorcycle which was allegedly carrying four people including the rider and the victims were rushed to KIU Hospital for treatment but two of them died on arrival.
According to the police spokesperson SSP Tumusiime, the accident was also suspected to have been caused by careless driving and over speeding.
By press time, the accident victims’ details had not been discovered and therefore not identified.
The motorcycle was towed and parked at Ishaka Police Station pending inspection.
