The body of the deceased was discovered hanging on a rope in his house by family members over the weekend.

Mary Mbabazi, the mother to the deceased said recently, his son lost his motorcycle he had acquired on loan to thieves and since then, he has been threatening to kill himself, decrying of being surrounded by misfortunes.

Mbabazi narrated that Kaahwa approached her on Saturday afternoon at their home, insisting that he would commit suicide because ever since he lost his motorcycle, he has not been progressing.

Mbabazi added that she guided his son to cancel out his suicide plans but was later shocked to find him hanging lifeless in his house a moment later. She believed that stress might have caused his son to commit suicide.

Police visited the scene and conveyed the body to Kagadi hospital mortuary for postmortem examination and thereafter handed it over to the relatives for decent burial.

The Albertine regional police spokesperson SP Allan Julius Hakiza condemned the rampant cases of suicide cases in the region advising people having stress or challenges to seek counseling from friends or leaders to avoid similar happenings.

Hakiza attributed the high crime rates in the region to youth unemployment, high school dropout rates, laziness, drug abuse among others.
