NEWS- The Police in greater Bushenyi Region have arrested Gareeba John and Tumwebaze David, two men suspected of killing their mother, Kyomugisha Jenivah, in a dispute over land.
The suspects, residents of Ruharo Cell, were apprehended with the help of a sniffer dog that tracked their scent from the crime scene to the deceased’s home.
Kyomugisha’s body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon by a herdsman, Remegio, who reported the finding to the area Chairperson LC II.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Kyomugisha was strangled, with additional injuries indicating a violent attack.
The police believe that the murder may be linked to a longstanding land conflict between Kyomugisha and her son Gareeba.
The Chairperson LC II of Ruharo Ward, Ndyanabo Panklasio, revealed that Kyomugisha was last seen on Tuesday evening with a boda rider, Kyimoze.
