Celebrating the life of Turaifina Kagabo Mungura

RUKUNGIRI- Christians have been reminded that after the Earthly life, there is a bright city in the Kingdom of God for those who accepted Jesus Christ.

This was said on Thursday by Rtd. Rev. Canon Justus Kamuhangire of North Kigezi Diocese during the burial of a centurion Turaifina Mungura Kagabo during the funeral service at St James Rwenyangi COU North Kigezi Diocese Rukungiri district.

Rev canon Kamuhangire described the late Mungura Kagabo as a gallant woman who was saved and normally attended church service at her advanced age which everyone should emulate.

He told all believers and mourners that the deceased fought a good fight and she won the race like Abraham.

Rev canon Kamuhangire hailed Rev Hannington Taremwa the parish priest of St James Rwenyangi COU and the family of Benon and Jesca Bitwiire for conducting Holy Communion for the deceased in her last moments.

Aidah Katahinga the youngest sister to the deceased described her sister late Mungura as hospitable, generous and a source of wisdom.

She noted that late Mungura was a hard working woman of noble character who supported her family through weaving baskets and other hand crafts.

Aidah Katahinga thanked all children led by Jessica Bitwiire and the family of Obed and Annet Katungwa for nursing their mother.

The children led by Jessica Bitwiire, Katungwa Obed and Saduress noted that their mother late Turaifina Mungura Kagabo taught them life skills such as work, generosity, love, patience, counseling and above all serving the Lord.

Jessica Bitwiire thanked the family of Obed and Annet Katungwa and all people who nursed and supported the deceased.

The Rukungiri District Woman MP Hon Natukunda Medius Kaharata appealed to the public to work hard in their old age instead of relying on hand tokens from neighbors.

Hon Natukunda noted that the late Turaifina Mungura Kagabo was self-reliant which everyone should advocate for sustainable development.

The late Turaifina Mungura Kagabo aged 104 years left 3 children and many grandchildren.
