NEWS- Christians have been challenged to repent and reconcile with their maker if they are to inherit eternal life.
The call was on Friday made by The Very Rev. Can. Dr. Rebecca Nyegenye, the Provost of All Saints Cathedral Nakasero, while preaching at the ongoing Annual Brethren Conference of the Diocese of Kigezi, at the Rugarama Convention Site in Northern Division of Kabale Municipality.
Citing the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11, Dr. Nyegenye urged Christians to abandon the evil behavior of the present world. She noted that mere participation in church activities is insufficient and asked believers to rather repent, seek reconciliation with God, and submit themselves to the Holy Spirit for a renewal and transformation of their lives if they are to enter the kingdom of God.
The cleric noted that many Christians are suffering because they have lost communion with their maker, and beseeched them to, like the prodigal son, return to their father.
The conference is held under the theme “Be not conformed to the standards of this world…” derived from Romans 12:2, will end this Sunday, with thousands of Christians in attendance.
