NEWS– A number of youths from around Kigezi Sub-region that comprise Kabale, Kisoro, Rukungiri, Kanungu, Rukiga and Rubanda have met and launched their new Umbrella ‘Kigezi Regional Youth Parliament’ at  Kihihi Town Council Hall in Kanungu District. 

The meeting was held under the Theme: ” Youths-Led Solutions: Navigating Unemployment, Climate Resilience and Community Empowerment”. 

The Meeting which was Chaired by the Speaker Nsabimaana Davis (DNK) was aimed at bringing ideas together to solve the challenges facing the Youths and their communities.

During the meeting, the youths have agreed to use all channels of communication available to mobilize their fellows especially in rural areas to come on board.

The Youth have shown their intention to focus on climate change mitigation innovations, and do what they can to add a positive change to their country by championing Sustainanable Development Goals, Uganda Vision 2040 and the African Integration Agenda 2063.

The Speaker has also highlighted that this is a big necessary burden on them which will only be achieved by a United Uganda and called upon the Government, NGOs, Religious Institutions, Educational Institutions and Political Leaders to support them since their success will mean a Successful Uganda.

While Speaking at the function, the President Kigezi Regional Youths’ Parliament Tonny Kareju thanked the Youths for embracing the idea of togetherness and said that Youths must labour to contribute to society if their voices must be heard.
