MITOOMA- With just hours to the commencement of 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations, the Mitooma district Education Officer Peace Barungi Groria has called on parents to instill in their children confidence and discipline during and after examination period so that their future can be shaped on moral uprightness.

Barungi made the call while speaking to parents of Kabira central primary school during a dedication service of primary seven candidates and graduation of top class pupils to primary section, a function that was held at school premises in Kabira Town council Mitooma district.

She noted that parents should be able to control their children’s behaviour and the learners themselves to be mindful of their future by desisting from any uncalled for behaviour.

Delivering his sermon, the Archdeacon of Kabira Archdeaconry Ven Rev Canon Steven Asingweire asked candidates to distance themselves from anything that can tempt them to any form of examination malpractice and focus on hard work, discipline and prayer which are the cores of their academic excellence.

Edwin Mwesigwa, the headteacher of Kabira Central primary school noted that 41 Candidates were dedicated to God and that they are ready for final exams. Mwesigwa added that 68 top class pupils graduated to primary.

Mitooma district registered 4867 candidates who will do their exams in 123 centres in the district.
