MITOOMA– Residents of Rubanga B Village in Rurehe Sub – county of Mitooma district have expressed gratitude to their leaders for giving them 2Km water pipes in a bid to increase access to safe and clean water.

These pipes were delivered on Saturday 13th January 2024 by the Ruhinda South Member of Parliament Hon Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda and Mitooma district Woman legislator Hon Agasha Juliet Bashisha.

It should be noted that the two leaders vowed to pattern with National Water and Sewerage Cooperation- NWSC to extend clean water to all parts of Ruhinda South and Mitooma atlarge to solve the long problem of water shortage that has been disturbing Mitooma citizens. 

It should be noted that recently, the duo gave out water pipes to Bukongoro residents in Mutara Town council and later to Sazinga.

The delivery function was held in Omukempugu Trading Center, Rurehe and the pipes received will help to distribute water in an area of 2km from Rubanga through Omukempungu up to Rurehe Primary School and will be fixed by NWSC.

Speaking to our reporter, Jane Tumukunde a resident of Rubanga said its the right time for them to enjoy the benefits of the National Resistance Movement- NRM government and good Members of Parliament. 

After delivering the pipes, Ruhinda South Member of Parliament Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda asked all leaders to emulate the heart of working together if they want better services for their people.

“Lets work together and bring services to our people and we stop blaming anyone for failure”, Hon Kahonda said.

Speaking at the same function, Hon Agasha Juliet Bashisha asked residents to always use clean water as a weapon that can help fight most of the water associated diseases and ensure proper hyhiene in the society.
