NEWS– Kihiihi Community Polytechnic parents and guardians have been hailed for investing in their children by educating them in institution that teaches them the vocational skills which will help them in the future.
These were said by Kanungu District Education Officer Shaban Adam while speaking as the Guest of Honor in the Parents Teacher’s Association meeting at Kihihi Community Polytechnic over the weekend.
Shaban Adam told the students said that education has five pillars which is we learn to know, learn to do, learn to be, learn to live with others and learn to unlearn and re-learn where he advised them to keep focused on their vision, purpose and control emotions of their actions if they want to prosper and also urged parents and students to engage in government programs which is prosperity for all.
While speaking at the same function, Kihihi community Polytechnic Head instructor Asiimwe Ronald Jack urged parents not to think that Polytechnic Institutions are for failures and also asked them to always cater for children with disability because disability is not inability.
Asiimwe thanked the charity organizations which are supporting some students which include Girls to Lead Africa, Bwindi Development Program, Kamukama Foundation and many others and urged parents to care of the needs for their children while at school.
Kihihi Community Polytechnic Chairperson Parents Teacher’s Association Bitwiire James hailed parents for entrusting them with their children from 350 students last year to 432 students now and urged them to bring more students in order for them to acquire skills.
He said that the management is committed to improve on the infrastructural development to accommodate as many students as possible since it has become an epi center of skills training excellence.
