NEWS- It has become a dark evening for the Diocese of Kinkiizi following the death of Rev. Fred Kyomukama who recently retired as clergy in the Diocese on 3rd December 2023.
Rev. Kyomukama has been working as the parish priest at Ntungamo Church of Uganda in Butogota Archdeaconry, Kinkiizi West County, Kanungu district.
According to his son Bright Atukunda, Rev. Kyomukama died at Mbarara regional referral hospital after a short illness.
“Hello colleagues, it’s too unbelievable that I have lost my Father at this stage. Continue to pray with us in this difficult situation. He died after a short illness from Mbarara regional hospital. RIP” Bright wrote on his social media handles.
The Kanungu District Womam Member of Parliament Hon. Kishaba Nkunda said it’s another sad day for the Christians in Butogota Kayonza for loosing such a man of God who recently retired as a clergy in Diocese of Kinkiizi after clocking his retirement age of 65.
“Today it’s another SAD day for us in Butogota Kayonza, our own Rev. Kyomukama has gone to be with the Lord. He just retired this month on 3rd; he’s been serving at Ntungamo COU. MHSRIP” Mp Nkunda said.
Rev. Can. Kenneth Kanyakole the Former Diocesan secretary Diocese of Kinkiizi comforted the family praying to God to strengthen them in this trying moment.
“Seasons come and seasons go. The man of God has gone to be with our lord Jesus Christ. May the good lord comfort the family members, the clergy, the Kayonza people, all lay-readers, the Ntungamo people and all Christians. May his soul rest in eternal peace” Rev Kanyakole.
By the time of publishing this sad news, the diocese, family members were in preparation to transport the body from Mbarara to his home for the burial on the date that will be communicated later.
