HON DOREEN BUSINGYE

Hon. Doreen Busingye, a Parliamentary hopeful for Rubabo County, has made significant strides in enhancing agricultural practices among local residents through her recent donation of hand hoes. This initiative aims to encourage greater participation in agriculture, a vital sector for the county’s economy.

Busingye, believes that providing these tools will improve crop yields for both home consumption and market sales. “By empowering our farmers with the right tools, we can address the socio-economic challenges faced by many families in Rubabo,” she stated.

This effort is part of her broader vision to alleviate poverty and enhance the living standards of households in the region.

The residents of Rubabo County are predominantly coffee farmers, but many have begun diversifying their agricultural activities by venturing into tea, sorghum, and banana cultivation, among other crops. Busingye’s donation of 30,150 hoes, which is estimated to cost millions of shillings, marks a substantial investment in the agricultural future of the county.

Her goal is to ensure that nearly all households in Rubabo benefit from this initiative, thereby fostering a culture of self-reliance and productivity.

In addition to her current agricultural initiatives, Hon. Doreen Busingye has a commendable track record of community service. She has previously lobbied for funding to construct four staff quarters at Buyanja Health Centre III and oversees more than 50 community groups focused on sustainable practices. Her efforts also include the construction of six stance latrines at Nyabitete Primary School and the drilling of boreholes to provide clean water.

Furthermore, Busingye has been proactive in addressing infrastructure challenges by securing Ugx 200 million for road rehabilitation in Rubabo.

She is deeply committed to supporting the education of children from needy families, managing educational programs across over ten schools in the county.

With her nomination forms recently picked from the NRM electoral commission, Busingye is gearing up for the nomination process set to begin on June 17, 2025, at the NRM EC headquarters in Kampala. She is optimistic about her chances and believes that, if elected, she will drive sustainable development forward for her constituents.

Busingye’s commitment to improving the lives of the residents of Rubabo County is evident through her various initiatives aimed at fostering agricultural productivity, enhancing healthcare access, and supporting education. As she prepares for her upcoming nomination, her constituents are keenly watching her campaign efforts, hopeful that she will bring the much-needed change to their lives.
