It a sad Saturday morning among the friends, family and close allies of the former Ibanda Woman Parliamentary Candidate Hon. Nasasira Abia Byamugisha who perished in accident last evening along Mbarara- Masaka road.
Information reaching our desk indicates that Nasasira tragically lost her life while returning from Kampala after purchasing a new car, she was traveling with her husband and in-law, who was driving at the time of the accident.
Hon. Abia was a passionate and dedicated leader who served with Isingiro Local Government and was a Woman Aspirant for Ibanda District (2021). She openly supported Gen. Mugisha Muntu and the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), advocating for good governance and integrity in leadership.
She had recently organized the birthday surprise for Gen. Muntu in Mbarara, and was known for her commitment and enthusiasm. She had promised to mobilize the people of Ibanda and “paint it purple” to welcome Gen. Muntu during the campaign.
Hon. Abia was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who shared her vision for a better Uganda.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of Hon. Nasasira Abia Byamugisha, who has died in a tragic accident along Masaka Road. Her body is currently at Masaka Regional Hospital” said a Friend.
Rest in peace, Hon. Abia, Your love, dedication, and spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
According to a one, Mr Aggrey the Headteacher Nyamabare primary school Ibanda District, Her sister Abia passed on last night following the accident she got along Mbarara-Kampala high way.
