MITYANA- Territorial police in Mityana are actively investigating murder by stabbing incident that occurred on 25th December 2024 at about 11Pm at Busaato Kyamagemule village Kalangaalo Sub County in Mityana district.
The deceased has been identified as Ssekiwunga Edward also known as God, a 48 year male, a resident of Busaato Kyamagemule village, Kalangaalo Sub County in Mityana district.
Preliminary findings according to SP Kawala Racheal, the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson indicate that the suspect Bafirawala Peter and Ssekiwunga Edward (deceased) were great friends.
It is alleged that on 25th December 2024, Bafirawala Peter (suspect) invited the deceased together with other people for Christmas party at their home.
The deceased first went to Kalangalo to watch a football match and later proceeded to the suspect’s home at around 11Pm but the suspect was already sleeping, so he decided to move out with the wife to the suspect.
Kawala told the press that when the suspect woke up and realized that his wife was not around, he became suspicious, followed them and found the deceased and his wife allegedly making love in the coffee and plantation.
It is alleged the suspect stabbed both of them with a knife inflicting serious injuries. After the incident, both the suspect and wife fled the scene.
The deceased was discovered in the morning in a very critical condition in the plantation by a child who later alerted the parents, but he unfortunately succumbed to the injuries while being rushed for treatment.
The scene of crime was visited by Police task team, and that the body of the deceased had four stab wounds on the ribs and buttocks.
Kawala added relevant statements have been recorded from witnesses.
The body of the deceased was evacuated from the scene and taken to Mityana hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Suspect’s home has also been destroyed by the angry mob whose Police efforts are on to have suspect arrested and brought to book.
