The Centenary Bank Kihihi Branch has today contributed Ugx 1.5 million toward the latest edition of The Heights Magazine of Kihihi High School in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District.
The contribution was delivered today Oct 7th, morning by a team led by Kihihi Branch Manager Nsiimenta Benon who said that the donation was one way to give back to the community as Social Corporate Responsibility.
The Centenary Bank’s Cyber Security team from the Head office led by the Chief Manager Cyber Security Rodney Hood Adriko also attended the event and engaged members of the School Coding Club and Cyber Club.
The Coding Club of Kihihi High School was founded last term by Kigezi Innovation Hub in partnership with Uganda National Students Association Kanungu Branch headed by Sheilla Kyasiimire.
According to to the Chief Executive Officer of Kigezi Innovation Hub, Ashraff Akankwasa, coding club is an extracurricular or community group where participants like students gather to learn programming, build software projects and develop digital skills in a fun and collaborative environment.
Akankwasa also explained that the school cyber club is a student group focused on building safe internet habits, computer skills, and an early interest in digital security.
Kihihi High School Headteacher Kenneth Mugimba Oryeteisa thanked the management of Centenary Bank for the gesture and pledged that the funds will be put to the right purpose.
