RUKUNGIRI- Christians from the four sub-parishes of Kyatoko Parish in Rujumbura Archdeaconry under North Kigezi Diocese on Saturday exhilaratedly welcomed Rev. Edson Ampeire as their new parish priest from the missions department in the Bishop’s Office.
On behalf of the Christians of Kyatoko parish, Gershom Twesigye, the head of laity acknowledged the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe for the transfer of Rev Edson to their church adding that they are privileged to have a priest of his caliber.
Twesigye added that during Rev. Edson Ampeire’s tenure as a Diocesan Missions Coordinator, he has had an impact in the spreading of gospel and transforming the lost flock back to church hence encouraging him to boost mission in their church.
Ven. Dickson Kakanyisa, the archdeacon of Rujumbura Archdeaconry affirmed that the diocese of North Kigezi is grateful for the work that Rev Edson has spent as the diocesan missioner.
Ven Kakanyisa also prophesied that Rev Edson might not spend many years as the Reverend of Kyatoko parish stressing that the Diocese are planning his elevation to which he challenged Christians of Kyatoko to exploit much of him for the development of their church before his next transfer.

Counsel Isaac Atukunda, the Vice Chancellor of North Kigezi Diocese, who is also the Secretary of Kyatoko Parish Kampala Fellowship gratified Rt. Rev Onesmus Asiimwe for transferring Edson Ampaire to their church adding that they are ready to give him the necessary support to ease his job of priesting.

Rev. Edson Ampeire, the new priest of Kyatoko Parish appreciated the warm welcome that Christians rendered to him adding that it shows love for God’s servants.
Rev. Ampeire also revealed that he has worked in the Missions department for five years and Kyatoko is his first parish to serve in which he called for guidance, support and unity from Christians for the development of their church.
