KAMPALA- The government of Uganda together with the Uganda energy credit capitalization company is set to launch the price subsidy program for clean energy technologies.

The price subsidy program to be launched in kiboga on will 5th December will address the affordability barriers associated with the upfront cost of acquiring clean energy technologies by households and enterprises.

Ugandans are set to benefit from price discounts for eligible clean energy technologies specially prices for off grid solar systems for lightning, charging and productive use of energy as well as clean cooking technologies will be discounted.

UECCC has partnered with 67 energy service companies to deliver the price discounts to Ugandans and refugees.

The program aims to enhance access to electricity most especially in rural and remote areas of Uganda.

“We are committed to imploring every Ugandan to embrace the program and access clean, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy, “said the UECCC managing director, Roy Nyamutale Baguma.

Baguma added that the only requirement to purchase the discounted products from the selected Escos will be a national identification card and ability to cover the discounted price.

This project will significantly contribute to socio-economic transformation and improved livelihoods in Uganda.
