NEWS- The Police in Kabale District are hunting for suspect s who allegedly stole a gun from a Security Guard at Pearl Hotel, Kigongi cell, Central Central Ward in Central Division in Kabale municipality/district.
The incident occurred at Pearl Hotel in the wee hours of today April 10th 2024 at around 4 am where Osbert Byonanebye a security guard attached to Ruhama Veterans Security Services where an SAR rifle number 564210028-15120 with two rounds of ammunition was stolen.
The security guard was allegedly found asleep on duty and the unknown person pulled the gun from him and ran away towards Rushaki and the victim attempted chasing the assailant but he never managed to get him.
Maate said that a case of theft of a rifle has been opened at Kabale Central Police Station and inquiries instituted to establish the truth of the matter.
Meanwhile, the Police have asked the members of the public, to remain security conscious and vigilant, and should they see any suspicious person or item with something related to the gun theft should immediately bring it to the notice of security.
