KABALE– On May 4, 2025, Hope Radio staff gathered to bid farewell to their beloved Station Manager, Andrew Amanya Binyindo. The ceremony, held at the station’s editorial room, was a heartfelt tribute to Andrew’s leadership and dedication.

Andrew, who joined Hope Radio in 2013, has been instrumental in shaping the station’s programming. He hosted popular shows like “Ekimurinkano” (6am-10am, Monday-Friday) alongside Allan Twongyeirwe, “The Rising Star Sports Program” (3pm-4pm), and “Sports Roundup” (12pm-2pm) every Saturday. Andrew also worked at 89.5 Voice of Kigezi from 2018 to 2022 before returning to Hope Radio as Station Manager .

During the ceremony, Andrew expressed gratitude to the staff for their solidarity and challenged them to maintain unity for the betterment of the station. He urged the team to continue working together and supporting one another.

Staff members praised Andrew’s exceptional leadership, unity, and mentorship. Some notable tributes came from:

– Allan Twongyeirwe, co-host of “Ekimurinkano,” who described Andrew as down-to-earth.

– Naboth Isaac Niwagaba, Agaweek and Kurikayo program host, who thanked Andrew for encouraging him to pursue news anchoring.

– Jude Twinomujuni, Programs Director, who credited Andrew with fostering staff unity.

– Byamukama Libino, World Focus News and Obunyakare Program Host, who described Andrew as a mentor.

– Abel Byamukama, station producer, who praised Andrew’s simplicity and commitment to the station’s values.

– Byaruhanga Job, Sunset show presenter; Shallon Namirembe, former Emirimo program host; Nicholas Kyigundu, station technician; Moreen Ashimwe, former English News Anchor; Reymond Arinda, English News Anchor; Michael Ibra, sports presenter; Clever Kansiime, Runyankole-Rukiga News Anchor; and Rukundo Arsher, Nicodemus Emirimo program presenter, who all shared heartfelt sentiments.

Rukundo Arsher also requested Andrew to help identify a suitable replacement.

As Andrew joins Diocese of Kigezi Radio, his colleagues wished him well and expressed gratitude for his impact on Hope Radio. The farewell ceremony was a fitting tribute to Andrew’s dedication and service.
