NEWS- The Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Bukonzo County has handed the Parish Chief and Parish Development Model SACCO leaders of Kanyatsi Parish in Kyondo Sub-county to Kasese Central Police Station on allegations of soliciting money from the program beneficiaries.
Speaking to the press shortly after handing the suspects to police, Lt. Maate Magwara Sebakira identified the suspects as Neckson Kambale, the Parish Chief, Simon Kabikirwa, the Parish Chairperson and Prosy Mutukwa, the SACCO Chairperson, Jockus Masereka, the Secretary and Rosette Kabugho, the Treasurer.
Lt. Magwara revealed that the accused persons connive with the beneficiaries and charged them money ranging from Ugx 40,000 and 100,000.
According to him, he was forced to arrest them following several complaints from the community.
The RDC threatened to continue causing arrests for other leaders with similar characters and hand them to police for investigations.
