Residents of Nyabigaga village, Karusandara sub-county, Busongora county South in Kasese District have vowed not to vote for leaders who can not lobby government for good service delivery to them.
Thev made the public out cry while talking to the Kasese District Woman member of parliament Hon. Florence Kabugho who visited their area to access government service delivery to them.
The residents have put a list of services they need into their sub-county including roads, an ambulance to cater for emergencies and a function HCIII which can admit patients to cut costs of traveling long distances for the health services.
Mr. Mubimba Masereka a resident of the area says the sub-county has been proved to be the food basket of Kasese District through the ever-agricultural harvests but they continue to witness bad roads which are mady during rain season making it hard to transport the produce to various markers.
Ms. Anifa Kasim the Sub- County NRM chairperson women league, noted the sub-county has continued to witness a number of calamities including floods which according to her needs a special attention by leaders through allocating funds to support the affected farmers which she said has never happen.
Other residents suggested to the legislator who visited them to initiate a vocational skills centre to cater for the ever-increasing number of schools drop outs in the area.
The residents also raised to government to expedite the process of erecting an electric fence to control animals from evading their gardens and crops and quickly asked government to also work on the issue of compensation whenever animals attack.
In her response, Hon. Kabugho promised to table the issues of calamities on floor of parliament for redress especially to support farmers whose crops are always affected by the calamities.
In other news, Preparations for the 41st South Rwenzori Diocese anniversary in the ministry are in high gear at the St. Pauls Cathedral in Kasese town.
Under the Theme: abundant life” from John 10:10, the Diocese is going to celebrate the event tomorrow August 31st and the chief guest is Hon. Gen. Wilson Mbasu Madi Minister of state for trade.
The South Rwenzori Diocese was established on August 26, 1984, when it was carved out of the Rwenzori Diocese.
