Current state of Kigoro Primary school

NEWS- Kogere Primary school located in Kigoro Cell, Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality is looking for over Ugx. 200 million to make more classrooms and fence the institution.

Mrs. Lavinya Kabugho, the school headteacher revealed the need at a donor’s conference that was held at school aiming at soliciting the money to satisfy a number of needs for the better school performance.

According to the head teacher, the school has an enrollment of 615 learners who have less classrooms to accommodate them.

She also said that they want to fence the school to prevent strangers from accessing it since they have been vandalizing school properties.

Rev. Asa Masereka Kiryaghe, the South Rwenzori Diocese Education officer who attended the function, challenged the community not only to wait for the government to provide everything but also contribute as local donor’s for the betterment of their communities. 

The educationist also asked parents to embrace taking children to school since it pays in the long run and quashes dependence syndrome.

Ven. Alfred Mugisha the Archdeacon Kasese Archdeaconry described parents who take their children to schools as people who are saving since education can pay back urging them to make sure that children go to, stay and complete school. 

Mr. Leonard Imanishimwe the Executive Uganda youth forum from the office of the first Lady who donated one million in his written speech that was delivered by Mr. Neckson Thaheramboko courted community members to fight against early marriage among school going children. 

He also emphasized a need for community members to embrace initiating developmental initiatives into their communities for development including schools, health centers among others.
