NEWS- The Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 64 year old man identified as Nsenga John a resident of Kinanira cell Central ward Mupaka Town Council, after he allegedly murdered by his 17 years old biological son calmed Ntwari Jay.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed that Nsenga who is now deceased had visitors at home on the fateful day on Saturday and bought meat which his wife Niringiyimana Brandinah cooked, served and got finished.

However, on Sunday 2nd February 2025, the wife cooked beans, Irish potatoes and matooke but when she served the husband, he refused to eat, saying that he wanted meat yet it had got finished the previous day, and when the wife explained to him, he failed to understand instead the poured the food on her.

Their son Ntwari Jay the suspect came from the well to fetch water and when he reached home found the father quarrelling and after putting the jerrycan down, the father also attacked him as well with a panga asking where the meat was. 

The father with the said panga cut his son Ntwari and injured him on the ear and that’s when the son also picked a stick and hit him on the head and ran away.

The father was rushed to Mupaka border Police post where he reported his son for assaulting him, issued with a Police medical form for examination, but when he reached Kinanira Health Centre III where he collapsed. From here, he was rushed to Mutolere Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Maate said that the suspect Ntwariv was arrested and upon the completion of inquiries, he will be produced before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
