KAMPALA- The Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered for the trial of an 18 year old boy before the High court for allegedly defiling a three year old girl.
Robert Aziki, has now been committed to face trial by Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, after state Attorney, Ivan Kyazza, told court that police investigations are complete and further presented committal papers signed on by the DPP dated August, 12th, 2024.
Prosecution states that on the night of 23rd July 2023, at Arua Park central Division in Kampala District, the accused performed a sexual act with the victim aged 3 years old.
The DPP says she intends to prove that on that fateful day, the mother of the victim went to sell tea at Arua park on Wilson road and lay the victim to sleep on the veranda of one of the buildings called Nyumbakubwa building that was opposite as she continued to sell her tea.
And that at about 2:00am, she had the victim crying and when she went to check on her, she found the suspect covered inside a bed sheet with the victim, legs spread apart and her panties missing.
She identified the victim because she knew him as one of the casual labourer and the accused in his defense told her that he did it because she had sold his shoes.
Evidence further shows that the said accused person had before defiled the minor, but the mother had forgiven him.
