NEWS- Ntungamo police is investigating circumstances under which a total of three people perished in Ntungamo-Kabale road fatal accident.
According to traffic police office, the accident involved motor vehicle registration number, UBH 322 W Toyota Hiace that was coming from Ntungamo leading to Kabale. In what they described as recklessly driving by the driver on the run, the motor vehicle veered off its lane side to that of the motorcycle registration number UFE 361 S that was coming from Kabale side.
Its further said that the motorcycle was being ridden by a yet to be identified individual was knocked leading to death of three people including the rider and his two male adult passengers, who were also yet to be identified by press time.
The accident took place on 4th February 2025 in Abatanyata Rubaare town council along Ntungamo – Kabale road.
Residents now report fears of some witchcraft or rituals taking place along that road since that area from Koranorya to off pearl flowers garden has become prone to such incidences of accidents.
It is just a week in the same stretch a motor vehicle crashed a motorcycle on Friday last week caused death of two people injuring two, three perished in the same manner on the exact stretch.
The scene was visited by traffic police led by AIP Manzi OC traffic Rubaare and bodies were taken to Itojo hospital mortuary for postmortem and both the wreckages were towed to Rubaare police station pending for IOV inspection.
They attributed the accident to the driver for reckless driving. Police said inquiries are at hand into the incident.
