The Mayor Nyakyera Town Council, Nganwa Keneth Rubatuhuura has urged the parents to prioritize education of their children amid limited resources within the families.

Mayor Nganwa made the call on sunday while officiating at the celebration and rewarding ceremony of the best performing pupils of Good Hope Nursery and Primary School Nyakyera in Primary Leaving Examination 2025 held at Nyakyera Christian Church in Kagorora Ward Nyakyera Town Council.

All 57 pupils that sat for Primary Leaving Examination in 2025, 40 of them scored a first grade and 17 a second grade which is a remarkably better performance he attributed to the collective effort among parents, teachers and pupils.

He however stressed that the parents carry a more responsibility to bear the zeal of providing educational necessities for their children amidst economic uphills within the families.

Baguma Abert and Bagambe Jessy, the Directors Good Hope Nursery and Primary School Nyakyera assured parents that they intend to uphold the pupils’ better performance by recruiting more qualified teachers to enhance academic supervision within the school.

They commended parents, teachers and all the stakeholders for their great support to keep the school functional.

Ensinikweeri Robert, the Headteacher Good Hope Nursery and Primary School Nyakyera wowed the outgoing pupils for having effectively consumed the school’s services by focusing on serious revision and carrying out academic consultations which enabled them to pass in better grades.

Pastor Jonathan Byaruhanga serving under Nyakyera Christian Church challenged all the best performing pupils not to possess pride while joining secondary school as this may drain the continuity of their academic excellence.

He urged the parents to be the usual intercessors of their children since there are many evil hindrances stalking behind their back.

Kamugisha Francis, the chairman PTA lauded the directors for being considerate to start a school within Nyakyera Town Council which has groomed a number of children from within and outside communities.
