At the NRM joint campaigns Rushebeya Playground in Rwamucucu sub county on 9th July 2025 , Rukiga district aspirant MP Patrick Kiconco Katabazi criticized fellow candidates for promoting identity politics.
Dr. Kampikaho Alexander had appealed to voters, saying, “If I’m elected MP, people of Kitojo Parish in Rwamucucu Sub-county will benefit greatly as I’ll be coming to drink and eat with them.” He emphasized that only two candidates, including himself and Musingunzi Bruno Kabaja, are from Kitojo Parish, implying that voters should choose one of them
Musingunzi Kabaja echoed similar sentiments, highlighting his connection to Rwamucucu Sub-county.
Katabazi expressed disappointment in these remarks, arguing that voters need a leader representing the entire Rukiga district, focusing on education, health, and infrastructure development. He highlighted his achievements and pledged to restore Rukiga’s lost glory if elected.
