The Police in Kabale District have registered a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a 56 year old man identified as James Bakesigaki a resident of Bugarama Kaharo Sub-county.
The late Bakesigaki was allegedly knocked while crossing the road at Kaharo Trading Center along Kabale – Mbarara highway, by motor vehicle registration number UAT 262T Fuso lorry whose driver fled the scene immediately.
Maate told journalists today that t’s alleged that, on the 13th July 2025 while the vehicle was coming from the Kabale side towards the Mbarara side when it reached the Kaharo Trading Center knocked a pedestrian Bakesigaki who was crossing the road and he died on spot.
Maate said that when the Police were alerted, they visited the scene and documented and the motor vehicle is parked Parked at Kabale Central Police Station pending inspection and
the body was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate said that investigations are going on as well as tracing for the driver who is on the run.
