The Police in Rukiga district are investigating a mob incident that occurred at Nyakanengo Cell Rutare Ward Muhanga Town council Rukiga District.
The incident was reported to the Police by 49 year old Orikiriza Domino, a resident of Nyakanengo Cell Rutare Ward Muhanga, Town council in Rukiga District.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman identified the deceased as 18 year old Muganizi Bosco, a security guard working with SAFE TAC Security Company.
It is alleged that on 21st May 2025 at around 10:30Pm the deceased together with another person whose particulars are yet to be established, while armed with a gun, a bow and arrow, entered the bar of one Mbarinawe Senior.
The duo pointed a bow and arrow, ordered those inside the bar to sit down and surrender to them all the money they had.
While pointing that bow and arrow to the owner of the bar, one of his customers only known as Elias jumped and grabbed him, and the one who had a gun took off with it.
They struggled with the one who had a bow and arrow, over powered him as a mob gathered and started beating him. The area chairman LC 1 went and called Police which rushed to rescue him but he unfortunately died as he was being taken to Kabale referral hospital.
The scene was visited, processed and documented, the bow and arrow was recovered from the scene and the body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
