The Police have named the 5 people who perished yesterday in an accident that took place at Omukatagu along Ishaka – Kagamba Road in Bushenyi District.
The Road and Safety Police Spokesman in the Uganda Police named the deceased as Erick Mukuru, Ategyeka Absolom, Ndyaguma Ivan, Muwanuka Julius and Turyahikayo Justus.
The accident took place yesterday even8ng after Minbus registration number UA 836AM lost control and over turned where 3 people died on spot and two others died after being admitted in Hospital.
Greater Bushenyi Traffic Officer, Inspector of Police Nkwasibwe Alfred said that it is alleged that the motor vehicle was carrying mourners from Kashaka in Mbarara District heading to Rwerere in Rukungiri Distrct through he Ishaka-Kagamba road and on reaching Omukatagu, the driver failed to negotiate a sharp corner due to overspeeding, lost control and veered off the road before hitting a pavement.
