Suspended deputy RDC

NEWS– The Secretary- Office of the President, Hajji Yunus Kakande has suspended the Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Luuka, Waiswa Paul over gross misconduct after he was seen physically assaulting a helpless civilian Kisige Abdhalla who was seated on a motorcycle.

According to the suspension letter dated March 5th 2024, and signed by Hajji Kakande, the Office of the President does not condone such immoral behaviour and Waiswa’s act does not represent the President’s Office.

Hajji Kakande said that the suspension takes immediate effect and the Office of the President will carry out investigations into the matter and once found guilty, Waiswa will be punished in accordance with the Public Service Standing Order.

Hajji Kakande further apologised to the victim, assuring him that justice will be served saying that such an embarrassment to the Office of the President can not be toralated and asked Waiswa to immediately hand over the Government Vehicle and all other properties that may be under his custody. 

Waiswa was also asked to make a written defence to the allegations raised by Kisige in order to show cause why the case should not be forwarded to the Rewards and Sanctions Committee of the Office of the President for further disciplinary action.

Hajji Kakande told Waiswa that the written defence should reach his office not later than 14 days from today, and the letter was copied to the Minister for the Presidency, Principal Private Secretary to the President, Head of the RDC Secretariat and the Resident District Commissioner Luuka District.
