The Police in Kabale District are investigating the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a 24 year old man identified as Timothy Kamugisha a casual labourer and resident of Kabale Municipality. whose body was this morning found at Igabiro cell in Mwanjari Ward in Southern Division.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the death and explained that the deceased was yesterday lastly seen at Docus Akampurira’s Bar where he was a daily customer.
Maate said that preliminary investigations indicate that he went to the Bar when he was already drunk and he was not served anything from there, and took something from the friend’s drink and when he became dizzy in the bar, he was carried outside and placed at the veranda for him to refresh.
It is reported that at around midnight it’s when everyone left for home, the Bar was closed leaving him at the veranda, but today early morning, he was found dead lying alongside the road.
Maate explained that when the Police were informed, they visited the scene of crime, processed and documented and the body was retrieved and conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
