The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today November 27th addressed a huge rally at Kyamate Primary school Playgrounds in Ntunpgamo District as he started his 2nd rally in Ankore Sub-region.
While in Ntungamo District, the President was received by the District NRM Chairperson, the First Lady Maama Jannet Kataha Museveni who highlighted significant development impact and socioeconomic transformation of the District aided by the NRM government
Mrs Museveni noted that the creation of Ntungamo District has seen both qualitative and quantitative growth from the population of 380,000 people to 553,000 people currently, the infrastructural developments of roads, electricity, health facilities, schools, electricity and water distribution across the district
She also highlighted the impact of Ugx 39 billion for the Parish Development Model Initiative disbursed to 38,693 involved in different economic activities, Ugx 3.8 billion Emyooga funds, Youth Livelihood Programs and Women Empowerment schemes and the 700km tarmac span in Ntungamo District, water and electricity distribution among others
On his part, President Museveni outlined major achievements of the NRM government to the people of Ntungamo District as he sought re-election for another term of office and noted that the immense achievements include peace, development in health, education, water, electricity, wealth creation, job creation and others is proof of the Party’s ability to propel the country to greater heights.
The President rallies the NRM supporters in Ntungamo District to mobilize peers and all members of their households to turn up on the voting day and ensure that they personally vote and protect the NRM win
President Museveni then guided the people of Ntungamo District to take advantage of the development interventions in the district to create wealth for individuals and households for affective socioeconomic transformation and highlighted the vast socioeconomic empowerment funds including the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Programs, Women Empowerment Fund that designed to grant capital for wealth creation works on the latter
He also warned Paeish Development Model committees in Ntungamo District for imposing collateral security on PDM beneficiaries and instructed them to stop the vice with immediate effect and he confirmed more tarmac road projects for Ntungamo District that include Mirama Hills – Kitwe – Rugorogota – Kitagata road, Nyamuyanja – Kabuyanda road and Kitwe – Rukoni – Bugamba road
He reminded the electorate of Ntungamo District to preserve the prevailing peace and stability on which the existing development is anchored as ushered in by the NRM government and said that he was committed to scaleup water for irrigation in Ntungamo District and improvements in the agricultural sector to reach of different public service delivery aspects in education, health, electricity distribution and others in Ntungamo District and elaborated that the NRM industrialization plan for job opportunities to the people of Ntungamo District as guided on the viability of commercial agriculture, services sector and ICT
President Museveni guided that free universal education can directly contribute to job creation through skills enhancement with reference to graduates on the presidential Industrial skilling Hub in Ankore Sub region where graduates of the skilling hubs have turned into wealth and job creators and all people in Ntungamo District to defend the free universal education policy to its full implementation.
