What will POATE 2025 bring to Uganda?

POATE 2025 will feature exhibitions, networking sessions, and immersive experiences designed to showcase Uganda’s tourism gems. Expect discussions on sustainable practices, workshops on community tourism, and maybe even a few surprises—like a virtual reality tour of Queen Elizabeth National Park or a live cultural performance.

The trending status of #POATE2025 isn’t just about hype; it’s a sign of Uganda’s growing confidence on the global stage. As the expo unfolds over the coming months, it’s poised to redefine how the world sees the Pearl of Africa—not just as a destination, but as a model for tourism done right.

Tourism in Uganda is showing signs of recovery, as evidenced by the 2023 Tourism Industry Performance Report, which recorded a 56% increase in international visitors, with over 1.2 million tourists generating significant revenue.

It should be remembered that Uganda was recognized by CNN as one of the top 23 destinations to visit. Entebbe International Airport also saw a rise in international passenger traffic, registering a 10% increase in January 2025 compared to the previous year, a sign of the growing importance of tourism in the country’s economy.

The continued success of Uganda’s tourism sector is supported by its hosting of international conferences and the expansion of Uganda Airlines, along with new air operators.

These developments are expected to further contribute to the industry’s recovery and growth, positioning Uganda as a prime destination for global tourism.
