The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has cautioned the voters in Makindye Division in Kampala Capital City against proponents of violence in the country who he has described as enemies of Uganda’s wealth, jobs, development and the flourishing socioeconomic transformation.
President Museveni noted that the NRM government has delivered to Uganda’s development and socioeconomic transformation on multiple front fronts ranging including peace and stability, economic and social development, wealth and jobs creation, youths skilling initiatives among other land mark national transformative initiatives.

While campaign at a rally at Buziga Primary School Play Grounds in Makindye Division – Kampala Capital City today Jsn 7th, President Museveni tasked the voters in Makindye Division in Kampala Capital City to cherish and protect the gains made by Uganda under the NRM leadership by re-electing him and all NRM party flag bearers in the forthcoming general elections.
Candidate Museveni highlighted the transformative works in Makindye division done by the NRM government that are worth protecting as he confirmed Uganda’s progressive strides to end importation of major commodities including motor vehicles through the full-scale production of Uganda’s KIIRA Electric Vehicle plant in Jinja City and he challenges people of Makindye Division to identify more wealth creation sectors for their active participation.
President Museveni noted that the domestic production of motor vehicles in Uganda has granted jobs and wealth opportunities to the nation as one of the major strategic investments for the country coupled by several other similar initiatives and rallied all people of Makindye Division to identify sectors for participation in the ongoing national wealth and jobs creation move.
Candidate Museveni unpacked mass wealth creation initiatives planned for scale up in Makindye Division as he guided the electorate on the 4 sectors of wealth and jobs creation which include enhancement of skills training and artisanship implemented through vast youth skilling initiatives that include the presidential zonal Industrial skilling Hubs, Manufacturing with thousands of factories already established across, the services sector and ICT among others
The President guided on peri urban commercial agriculture for small scale land owners and urban dwellers that government intends to further support to directly improve wealth creation strides at household level.
He cited several examples of success stories for the mentioned sectors as fostered by the NRM government and rallied the electorate of Makindye Division to intensify extend the NRM government’s tenure for more wealth and job creation opportunities.
President Museveni quantified the success of the Parish Development Model Initiative in Makindye Division and ordered for redress to existing gaps in the implementation of the initiative in the area apnd directed the Minister of Local Government Hon Raphael Magyezi and the PDM secretariate to promptly expand their ongoing review of the operationalization of PDM beyond Kawempe, Nansana to Makindye Division as well.
President Museveni confirmed plans to increase PDM funding and ordered for strict adherence to allocations for youth, women and all special interest groups as prescribed in the PDM implementation guidelines and noted that the Parish Development Model Fund Saccos are intended to stay and permanent Parish Banks directly under the control of its Beneficiaries and has asked the people of Makindye Division on proper management of the fund.
President Museveni directed NRM flag bearers in Makindye Division to conduct meetings with residents and hear all their concerns on service delivery and report back to him for immediate redress and pledged to enhance skilling initiatives for youths through the presidential industrial skilling Hubs.
While addressing the same rally, the First Lady Maama Janet Kataha Museveni has challenged youths in Makindye Division to illustrate their ability and contribution to their nation by re-electing the NRM presidential candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and all NRM flag bearers in the division and called on the electorate of Makindye Division to turn up massively on polling day to vote for NRM Flag bearers at all levels.
The NRM first National Vice Chairperson Alhaji Moses Kigongo has advised the NRM fraternity in Makindye Division to intensify joint campaigns moving forward for a consolidated win while the NRM second National Vice Chairperson female Rt Hon Anita Among has called for specific programs tailor made for participants in the night economy accross Makindye Division, expansion of Kiruddu Hospital, youths funds among others.
