Rubanda District authorities have challenged health center in-charges to take ownership of their facilities and ensure quality services for patients.
This was revealed on Monday during a stakeholders meeting in the district production hall to share data collected from 10 health facilities under the Community Led Monitoring (CLM) project by KADOLHA.
The project is supported by Mayanja Memorial Foundation and TASO with funding from Global Fund.
Speaking during the meeting, Rubanda District Chief Administrative Officer Samuel Ahabwe and Assistant RDC Hillary Bindeba warned health workers against absenteeism and other practices that affect service delivery.
Mr. Ahabwe said the reports should not be taken as mere feedback but should be acted upon. He was referring to the comprehensive report presented by KADOLHA about findings in health facilities in the district.
The report highlighted challenges in 10 health facilities including absenteeism, late reporting to work, and patients failing to get answers on unavailable services.
Ahabwe said the District Local Government would act on the report where necessary.
Rubanda District LCV Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba revealed government plans to construct staff houses at Rubanda District General Hospital.
While addressing the meeting, Rubanda District Secretary for Health and Education Obed Mutatiina Kitabutuuka cautioned health workers against non-performance.
He said locals are now informed and aware that health workers are earning more than before, and any non-performance will be exposed thanks to social media.
The report was presented by KADOLHA Team Leader Amos Tugumisirize and comprises data collected from 10 health facilities in Rubanda District between 1 June and 30 September 2026.
The exercise was carried out by CLM monitors, volunteers selected by the KADOLHA CLM Steering Committee, in partnership with the Ministry of Health under the TASO HIV, TB and Malaria Project funded by the Global Fund.
