The Police in Rubanda District have registered a suicide incident of 37 year old man identified as Barnabas Mugabe a resident of Karukara Ward in Hamurwa Town Council Rubanda who was found hanging with a rope in the corridor of his bedroom.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and said that it is alleged that, the deceased and his wife Ahimbisibwe Lelia have been having domestic issues for long time.
It reported that he went home yesterday and found the wife preparing supper which he immediately removed from the fire when it was not ready and the two started fighting as he struggled to remove a one old baby from her.
An old woman, the mother of the deceased tried to intervene but the deceased threatened to cut her if she comes across there.
Its reported that it was at this time that the wife ran to the Police at Hamurwa where she reported the case of domestic violence and proceeded to Kakore Health Centre II for treatment where she was admitted.
That the mother of the deceased this morning saw the deceased seating outside with the baby crying and went to Karukara Trading Centre to call people to help and remove the baby from him and on coming back they found when he had hanged himself dead abandoning the baby on the verandah.
Maate explained the scene of crime was visited and examined and documented and the body was examined at the scene and handed to the relatives over for burial as investigations continue.
