KIGEZI- The Rubanda Resident District Commissioner, Eric Ssewandigi, has taken swift action against irregularities in the Parish Development Model (PDM) program by arresting Kiyebe Parish Chief, Tumwakiire Aliphosina, and ordered the Police to summon Rubanda District Commercial Officer, Moses Mukyiza, and Ruhija Sub County Chief, Elias Tumukuratire.
The arrests stem from allegations that the officials included non-resident beneficiaries in the PDM program, contrary to its guidelines. Specifically, Mukyiza allegedly brought in a friend, while Tumukuratire included his wife, and Tumwakiire added three individuals from Kabale, all of whom received UGX 5 million.
Upon confrontation, Tumwakiire admitted to bringing in the three individuals, who confessed to paying 200,000 shillings each to the PDM committee after receiving UGX 1 million. Ssewandigi accused Tumwakiire of convincing the PDM committee to include these non-resident beneficiaries, who would then pay bribes.
