RUKIGA- The Office of the National Chairman boss SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has rallied Ugandans to embrace the self-empowerment programs engineered by the National Resistance Movement NRM, aimed at alleviating households from poverty.
Hajjat Namyalo revealed this on Friday May 31st 2021 as she handed over a number of items under her Office’s initiative dubbed Self-empowerment program, in a function held at Kantare playground in Kashambya Sub County, Rukiga District.
She appreciated several government programs Parish Development Model but showed concern over a number of bureaucracies involved that might not favor the uneducated and those unable to read and write especially those in the informal sector, pointing out that their concept as ONC is giving directly to people from the president rather than keeping the population in waiting.
“I have come here just like i have done elsewhere, to empower you on behalf of HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First lady Janet Kataha Museveni. These two are the champions of wealth creation in the country. So am here to deliver these empowerment tools on their behalf. It’s important that all Ugandans have some money in the pocket” Hajjat Namyalo Hadijah Uzeiye to the people of Rukiga.
According to her, a number of people have acquired skills through presidential skilling hubs countrywide adding that it’s now time to equip them with what can help them set off to put into practice what they have been taught.
On a special note, SPA Namyalo heaped praises on Dr Sylvia Arinaitwe, the Deputy Managing Director National Water and Sewerage Corporation in charge of finance and strategy for the unwavering support she rendered for the success of this function revealing that her office had meager equipment but Dr Sylvia ushered in a hand to supplement them.
“When we received request to come to Rukiga, our office had limited equipment and we never wanted to bring things that won’t change your status. However, Dr Sylvia Arinaitwe and other stakeholders joined us and asked to come on board so that we make an impact in Rukiga. A big applause to your Dr Sylvia Arinaitwe” said Namyalo.
ONC’s Namyalo scoffed at Political players who never wanted this function successful making it clear that this initiative isn’t involved in any form of local politics but empowering President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s rural people he wants out of poverty,.
“As ONC, we’re not involved in any form local politics. I received numerous calls threatening me not to bother step in Rukiga district to empower you, but I rejected, because my role is reach out to the very people the president wants empowered and alleviated from poverty. If they kill me, I stand to be killed but I must make sure President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s people get empowered to alleviate poverty from their households” she added.
On her part, Dr Sylvia Arinaitwe commended H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visionary leadership that saw him appoint the person in SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo who has been a pillar in empowering communities countrywide.
Dr. Arinaitwe pointed out that it was a no let go opportunity and pledged that she will always do whatever it takes to ensure that any development meant to see Rukiga people get money in their pockets is fully supported.
“I am particularly proud to see the progress in my home district of Rukiga. My dream is to see my people prosper, with money in their pockets and a brighter future for their children. Thank you for your tireless efforts in uplifting our communities. Thank you @KagutaMuseveni” she noted.
She highlighted the ideology of President Museveni’s leadership including patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, democracy and transitioning from subsistence to commercial agriculture where every household has an income source. She pointed out that even Rukiga is ready to welcome Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, of the Patriot League of Uganda and the current Chief of Defence Forces should President Museveni decides to leave politics. This was massively welcomed with an applause by mammoth crowds chanting PLU PLU slogans, since the function also attracted the party’s coordinators from both Kigezi and Ankole regions.
“I want to thank SPA Namyalo for this empowerment initiative, and Rukiga, thanks for turning up to receive the equipment here. Let it be to bring development in our families and we continue supporting President Museveni and the NRM for more” said Dr. Sylvia Arinaitwe.
Fred Nayebare Kyamuzigita, the Rukiga District Resident Commissioner pointed out that it’s a national function where Nyamyalo was delivering President Museveni’s message to Kigezi Region residents.
Kyamuzigita thanked NRM government under the stewardship of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni especially for facilitating peace, elevating education, health, elevating women in Leadership, thinking about the youths and People with Disability’s representation as well as skilling Ugandans and other necessities since 1986 when they took over power.
The RDC reminded SPA Namyalo of president Museveni’s unfulfilled promises in Rukiga district especially the tarmacking of Muhanga – Kisizi road, reminded her of a need for a technical School in the district as well as a Court of laws since people now have to trek to Kabale to seek justice.
The Rukiga District woman Member of Parliament Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi stressed that Rukiga is basically NRM and hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through the ONC for the effort in empowering Ugandans especially Rukiga district pointing out that the initiative will help alleviate households from poverty.
Hon. Kamusiime called for cooperation among the residents for the development of the area.
Mbabazi Robert Kakwerere, the Rukiga District boss hailed president for thinking about empowering Rukiga pointing out the district leader’s teamwork has seen a lot of tremendous performance stressing based on the National assessment, Rukiga District emerged 20th countrywide.
Kakwerere echoed RDC Kyamuzigita’s call for more support especially with teachers in Rukiga schools so as boost their performance in Education. Stressed that the district was promised road equipment but later scrapped off from the final list of beneficeries yet it’s a hard to reach area.
“Our chief guest SPA Namyalo, help us to remind His Excellence the President that some of the promises he made in 2006 are still pending, it’s our request that they are fulfilled for benefit of the community” Kakwerere said.
Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo gave out multi-million equipment including sewing machines, hoes, knapsack spray pumps, brick making machines, tool boxes for boda boda riders and mechanics, seedlings, fertilizers, cooking stoves and chapati making equipment among many others.
The function climaxed with performances from artistes led by Gravity Omutujju, Rab J Ekyafayo, Happy Alex, Pastor Nabz among others.
