The Police in Kanungu District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 35 year old man identified as Emmy Busingye a resident of Rukarara village in Kihembe Sub-county in Kanungu district.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and said that it took place yesterday at Rukarara village.
It’s alleged that the deceased Busingye is believed to be a habitual thief because of his previous record with numerous reports at Kihihi Police Station and was sighted with a numberless motor cycle which Boda Boda riders suspected was stolen.
The Boda Boda converged and arrested him and was immediately lynched after he failed to explain where he got the motorcycle and was known to have never owned any.
Maate explained that the Police were informed, the scene of crime was visited, processed and documented and the body was conveyed to Kihihi Health Centre IV Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate however condemned the act of mob justice and said that Inquiries underway to establish those involved in his death, so that they are brought to book and answer charges of murder accordingly.
