Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi Gaddie Akanjuna

NEWS- The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, has urged Christians to turn to Jesus Christ for help in their daily life situations and to bring about positive change.

The Bishop made this call on Monday, April 1st 2024 during the roof fundraising function of Kiniogo Church of Uganda under Mwisi Parish, Kikungiri Archdeaconry, in Kutumba Sub-County, Kabale District.

The prelate expressed that Jesus is the ultimate Savior who can intervene in any situation and bring about positive change emphasizing that walking through life without him is hard hence a need to get closer to him through salvation from Satan’s bondage.

Bishop Akanjuna also encouraged Christians to embrace the practice of giving thanks to God as a pathway to receiving greater blessings, emphasizing the spiritual importance of cultivating an attitude of gratitude towards the Almighty adding Christians must learn to express their heartfelt gratitude to God regularly, as it opens up to receiving even more of His divine favor and provision.

Speaking as the chief guest of honour at the function representing Rt Hon Dr Ndugu Ruhakana Rugunda Special Envoy for Special Duties in the Office of the President, Hon. Minister David Bahati, Uganda’s State Minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives (Industry), called on the public to prioritize unity and cooperation over divisionism to achieve better service delivery in Kabale District and Uganda as a whole.

Hon. Bahati, who is also the Ndorwa West lawmaker and National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson, emphasized the importance of working together towards a common goal highlighting that when people come together and collaborate, they can accomplish much more than when they are divided.

He added that Christians should use Easter day celebrations to reconcile with people with whom they have misunderstandings.
