NEWS- The Rukiga district council have included funds for the construction of a Kitchen at Mparo Health center IV on the laid budget 2024/2025, after the Rukiga County Member of Parliament Hon Ndyomugyenyi Roland Bish failed to fulfill his pledge of constructing it.
During the Thursday’s Council meeting at the Rukiga District Rukiko hall, Honorable Councilors retaliated against a need of having a Kitchen at the facility disclosing how the current one being in a sorry state putting lives of Patients caretakers at risk.
It was also put to the Floor of the Council that during the Campaigns 2 years ago, Hon. Bish Roland Ndyomugyenyi, the current Rukiga County Honorable MP pledged to construct the said Kitchen which he started on and abandoned it along the way.
Based on the current situation at the Health center, a budget of Ugx 30,829,093 was laid in the next financial Year Budget for the district to facilitate the construction of a Kitchen at Mparo Health center IV.
Other Key priorities for the next financial Year Budget on Health were; Completion of Maternity ward and Mortuary, both at Mparo Health center IV of about Ugx 35,500,000 and 40,619,000 respectively.
The Laid Budget for year 2024/2025 for Rukiga district which is of Ugx 26,386,339,000 if passed will see a decrease of 12.4% from the current working Budget of 2023/2024 at a tune of Ugx 30,135,235,000.
According to the secretary for finance, planning and administration Hon. Niwandinda Samuel, the decrease was attributed to none allocation of program Development Grant from Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industries and Fisheries, EX-Gratia for Councilors, Salary, Salary and Pension arrears, a reduction in both Local Revenue and donor projection and general decrease in District wage.
