The Vice President of Uganda Maj Jessica Alupo Epel has arrived in New York to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Vice President was received today morning at John F Kennedy International Airport, by Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, and Uganda’s Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Robie Kakonge.

Vice President Alupo is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on Thursday, September 26th 2025 and is expected to present Uganda’s position on key global issues including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, and international cooperation.

Besides her very important address, the Vice President is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from different countries, aimed at strengthening Uganda’s diplomatic ties and exploring new areas of cooperation.

The 80th UN General Assembly has brought together world leaders to deliberate on pressing global challenges, providing Uganda with a platform to contribute its voice on issues of international importance.
