Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd (WSACCO) has recognised 47 of its staff who were recently promoted to various non-commissioned officer (NCO) ranks, applauding their dedication and service to the institution.

While speahking at the Ceremony, at WSACCO headquarters in Kiwatule in  Kampala, the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Col Yusuf Magero Buha, described the promotions as a well-deserved reward for hard work and sacrifice and urged the officers to embrace their new ranks with greater professionalism and commitment. 

“Promotions come with higher expectations and responsibilities. I encourage you to maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and to be exemplary in both conduct and performance. We are going to adopt new ways of measuring output, such as individual and branch performance, to ensure improved service delivery,” Col Buha said. 

Col Buha made categorically clear thst the role of other ranks in the military setup is vital and without them, you do not have an army and also commended the spouses of the promoted officers, recognising their support in helping the staff remain focused and effective.

While speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Lt Col Peter Tuhairwe, Board Member for Northern Uganda, praised the UPDF leadership for acknowledging the officers’ contributions and commended WSACCO’s management for nurturing talent.

 “Recognition is important when work is done well. However, it comes with a warning. Discipline must be maintained because it is the foundation of growth and success,” Lt Col Tuheirwe said.

The acting Director of Finance and Administration, Lt Col Julius Katanaka, encouraged Wazalendo staff who were not promoted to remain steadfast, assuring them that their turn for recognition would come.

On behalf of the newly promoted, Warrant Officer Class One Mukama Richard expressed gratitude to WSACCO for recognising their contributions and for offering mentorship that has made them more valuable to the organisation.

The promotions covered a range of ranks fif four Warrant Officers I, eight Warrant Officers II, six Staff Sergeants, sixteen Sergeants, four Corporals and nine Lance Corporals.

The ceremony was attended by members of the WSACCO Board of Directors, the Managing Director of Wazalendo Investments Ltd, directors, department heads and staff.
