NEWS- The Police in Rukungiri District are hunting for suspects who allegedly murdered a 56 years old woman identified as Kakazi Mary a resident of Rugorogoro cell in Mabanga Parish in Kebisoni Sub-county.
KIgezi Regional Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate told journalists that the incident occurred last night at Kichwamba Cell in Karuhembe Parish, inKebison Sub-County and the body was discovered today morning.
It’s alleged that Kakazi Mary has been having the business of a bar located at Bagarame Trading Centre in Rugorogoro Cell, Mabanga Parish Kebison Sub-County, and she was at her bar and she operated and was seen closing by her immediate neighbour Tusingwire Juanita, whom she told that she was going to sleep.
Unfortunately, today morning Kizambire Mangadarena while going to her garden, she found the body of Kakazi Mary lying near the footpath from Kichwamba to Kakanyenye and near to an unfinished house of Kitojo Catholic Church.
She made a loud alarm which attracted other residents to come to the crime scene including Segawa who informed the area Chairperson LC I Kichwamba Cell Turyahariwe Levi who then reported the case of murder at Mabanga Police Post.
A case of murder was registered and a team of Police officers visited, processed and documented the scene with K9 dog from Rukungiri and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Center III Mortuary for the postmortem examination.
Meanwhile Kigezi Region Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate has said that the Rukungiri are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified male adult.
This comes after Twesigye Johnson the GISO Nyarushanje said that while he was from his home heading to Minera Hot Springs, he reached Minera Bridge and found when people had gathered along the River.
When he stopped and asked what was taking place, he was informed that there was a sack containing the body of a human which was seen floating on the waters and upon confirming this incident, he proceeded to make a report with the Police.
The Police officers visited the crime scene at Minera River and documented it and made statement and the body was retrieved and conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem examination.
The body was tied and fixed in a sack and the deceased was dressed up in black trousers and multi-colored shirt and anyone missing a dear one should visit Rwakabengo health center so that it is identified and taken for a decent burial as inquiries continue.
