President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has hosted top African leaders at State House for high-level peace talks aimed at ending the long-running conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
The closed-door meeting brought together African Union, EAC and SADC facilitators led by Togoโs President Faure Gnassingbรฉ, alongside former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo.
The talks focused on pushing dialogue forward amid years of violence involving armed groups such as M23 and ongoing tensions between DRC and its neighbours, including Rwanda and Uganda.

President Museveni reaffirmed Ugandaโs commitment to a lasting peace solution, building on earlier efforts like the Luanda and Nairobi peace processes. No official outcomes have yet been announced as consultations continue.
