The Ministry of Education and Sports has released the 2nd series of the Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board Examination results sat for in December 2025 by 100,272 candidates in the 215 accredited health Technical and Vocational Education and Training centers across the country.

The released the Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board Examination 2nd series Assessment results indicate and increasing trend of male candidature registering for diploma in nursing direct and certificate in nursing which traditional used to attract more female candidates though females students still dominate and with observed increase of Health Technical and Vocational Education and Training candidature by 22.8%.

The Minister of Education and Sports also the First Lady Maama Jannet Kataha Museveni notes that Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs are key to promoting employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance for learners in cardership courses adding that her Ministry is focused on the alignment of skills with the labour market demands curb address the challenge of unemployment in the country.

The Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board Examination Assessment Results were released today at State House Nakasero where Mrs Museveni noted that there has been an 11.2% improvement in the performance of Certificate candidates and significant observations for diploma candidates.

Today’s results release defined the Candidates as part of a new cohort of proficient skilled and passionate health workers force fit for national and international deployments and she challenged the Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board to hold grip on the new Technical and Vocational Education and Training law guidelines to identify the needs of the health labour market and occupational competencies foreseen through the merger of the Assessment and Curriculum design functions in the new law.

The Minister reveals that the education sector relies on the board’s proficiency to ensure that the Health Technical and Vocational Education and Training graduates are market ready and globally competitive and there for commended the The Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board for embarking on efforts to improve the curricular have commenced.

She tasked Technical and Vocational Education and Training providers ensure compliance to standards, including numbers that match the available training facilities and practicum sites as provided for by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council, to advise on the capacity of each institution during the licensing process.

She also cited several considerable investments made towards promoting of Technical and Vocational Education and Training learning including a supportive legal and policy frameworks and making every effort to provide appropriate resources in preparation for the increasing demand for Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs in the country.

While speaking at the same event,  Dr Moriku Kaducu the state Minister for Primary Education has highlighted government plans to expand health training with quality and equitable access based on values and ethical responsibility among health practitioners and challenged health practitioners to serve with integrity and passion to calling.
